USS Core (CVE-13) in the Atlantic, 1943
Here we see the Bogue class escort carrier USS Core (CVE-13) underway in the Atlantic on 10 October 1943. The photograph was taken from an aircraft five days into her third hunter-killer anti-submarine patrol of the year. The Core's aircraft or her escorts sank at least one U-boat on each of these patrols.
