This picture shows the USS Cleveland (CL-55), name ship of the Cleveland class of light cruisers under construction at the New York Shipbuilding Corp on 1 October 1941, one month before she was launched. At this stage the gun houses have yet to be installed, and the different size of the fittings required for the two main 6in triple turrets and one 5in twin turret can clearly be seen.

Nicely organised, with the wartime service records separated out from the main text, so that the design history of the light cruisers flows nicely.
