3"/50 Gun on USS Charger (CVE-30)
Here we see one of the 3"/50 guns on the escort carrier USS Charger (CVE-1), in June 1942. The Charger was originally converted into an escort carrier for the Royal Navy, but after only two days in British hands was taken back by the US Navy and used as a training ship for carrier crews.
