Stern view of USS Capps (DD-550), San Francisco, 1957
Here we see a stern view of the Fletcher class destroyer USS Capps (DD-550), at the San Francisco Naval Shipyard on 11 April 1957. She had been decommissioned at Long Beach between 1947 and 1957, but was then re-activated and given to Spain, where she served as the Lepanto. Her stern looks rather dented, and she still carries her Second World War depth charge racks, suggesting that very little work has been done on her by this point.
