USS Canberra (CAG-2) and USS Boston (CAG-1) at Norfolk, 1958
Here we see the Baltimore class cruisers USS Canberra (CAG-2) (left) and USS Boston (CAG-1) (right) at Norfolk, Virginia, in April 1958 for a change of command ceremony for CruDiv 4. Both of the cruisers have been converted into missile cruisers, with their rear guns replaced with anti-aircraft missiles (SAM-N-7/ RIM-2 Terrier Missiles). The missile launchers can clearly be seen here, surrounded by most of the crew, as can the remaining forward guns.
