This picture shows the changes made to the islands and mast area of the Bogue class escort carrier USS Breton (CVE-23). It was taken at the Mare Island Navy Yard on 6 March 1944 and shows just complex he radar equipment had become in the few years since the first ship-borne radar was developed.
