USS Benham (DD-796) being commissioned as Peruvian Villar
Here we see the Fletcher class destroyer USS Benham (DD-796) being commissioned into the Peruvian Navy as the Villar on 15 December 1960. She officially remained on the US Naval Vessel Register until 15 January 1974, when she was finally sold to Peru. She remained in Peruvian service until she was scrapped in 1980.
