Here we see the crew of the Independence class light fleet carrier USS Bataan (CVL-29) spelling out 'Home' on 22 May 1953, as they were heading back to Naval Air Station San Diego after a deployment to Korea. On deck are nineteen Grumman AF Guardians and a single F4U Corsair.
