USS Balch (DD-363) from above and behind, 1943
Here we see the Porter class destroyer USS Balch (DD-363) from above and behind at San Francisco on 30 August 1943, after she had completed an overhaul. The changes made are ringed, and include modified radar, extra weapons and what appear to be life rafts on either side. No.13 shows where her rear superfiring turret had been removed and replaced with more anti-aircraft guns on a raised platform. Sadly the numbered key wasn't included!
