Forward 3in Gun, USS Bainbridge (DD-1)
This picture shows the forward 3in gun on the Bainbridge class destroyer USS Bainbridge (DD-1). The picture also gives us a good view of the bridge platform, as the gun was carried at the front of the same structure. Note how the supports for the overhead awnings prevent the gun from moving, showing that they were purely a peacetime feature.
