USS Astoria (CL-90), Mare Island, 1944
Here we see the Cleveland class light cruiser USS Astoria (CL-90) at Mare Island on 21 October 1944. Note the 44mm quad gun mount on the left, and the twin 4in 38 turrets in the centre-left and on the centre line, as well as the main triple turrets towards the stern. She is also carrying two floatplanes on catapults on her fantail.
