Combat Information Centre on USS Anzio (CVE-57)
Here we see the Combat Information Centre on the Casablanca class escort carrier USS Anzio (CVE-57) on 21 April 1945. This was the heart of operations on the carriers, bringing together all available sources of information on the location of friendly and enemy forces to provide the ship's commander with the best possible picture of the battle. This picture was taken during the battle of Okinawa.
