Looking aft from bow, USS Alabama (BB-60)
Here we see the view looking aft from the bows on the South Dakota class battleship USS Alabama (BB-60) during a high speed run in January 1943, during her shakedown cruise. From this angle she bristles with firepower, with six of her main guns concentrated at the bows, and at least 16 of her 5in guns visible in their twin turrets alongside the superstructure.
