Consolidated PBY-1 of VP-13 in Flight
The aircraft code suggests that this is a Consolidated PBY-1 Catalina of VP-13, which makes the 1935 date incorrect, although that does match the date of the prototype of the Catalina, the XP3Y-1. US Navy units repeatedly changed their designations before the Second World War, and VP-13 began as VP-18, becoming VP-13 then VP-27 and finally VP-102 while using the Catalina.
