MG 42 in foxhole on Eastern Front, c.1944
Here we see a German soldier armed with an MG 42 in a foxhole somewhere on the Eastern Front, probably in 1944. The gun is angled slightly towards the camera, so we can see the top of the square cover for the gun barrel, and the extensive series of long holes which make it almost look like two seperate rods.
