Close-up of M7B1 105mm Howitzer Motor Carriage 'Priest' at Heimbach
This picture shows a M7B1 105mm Howitzer Motor Carriage 'Priest'. The M7B1 was built on the chassis of the M4 Sherman with a single piece cast nose. On this vehicle a bar has been fitted to the nose to create extra storage space, and more supplies are being carried above the tracks. There also appears to be some sort of shield above the left-hand part of the open topped fighting compartment.
