This three-quarters view of Fairchild A-10 Thunderbolt II no.625 of the 118th TFS was taken in Iraq in 2003, gives us a good view of the various markings carried on the aircraft. Note the three black lighting bolts (one on each vertical tail structure and one on the nose), originally designed by Lt Col Phil Dickey for the squadron's Second World War era Mustangs.
