75mm Armed Churchill Tanks as Artillery, Italy, 1945
Here we see a line of 75mm gun Churchill tanks armed with 75mm guns, acting as artillery in Italy in the Spring of 1945 during Operation Buckland. Five are Churchill IV NA75s, armed with a US 75mm gun with no muzzle break, and one armed with a British 75mm gun. The British-armed tank can be identified by the muzzle brake on the gun, and is the third tank in the line (the muzzle brake is just below the single crewman emerging from the turret of one of the rear tanks. Not enough of the tank can be seen to tell if its a Churchill Mk VI or a Churchill Mk VII
