No.613 Squadron attack on SS Barracks, Egletons
Here we see the damage caused by the Mosquitos of No.613 (City of Manchester) Squadron during an attack on 18 August 1944 on a school at Egletons, to the south-east of Limoges, that was believed to be in use as an SS barracks. The attack was actually commanded by Air Vice Marshal B Embry, who flew under an alias as he was far too senior an officer to be flying on operations.
