122mm Howitzer M1938 firing into East Prussia
Here we see the crew of a 122mm Howitzer M1938 (M-30) that was one of the first Soviet guns to fire onto German soil, after troops advancing through southern Lithuania came within range of East Prussia. This gun can be identified by the unusual gun shield, combined with the glimpse of the breech block, which matches other photographs of the weapon.
