War at Sea
SMS Goeben and SMS Breslau put to sea at the start of their final sortie, which ends on the following day with the Goeben badly damaged and the Breslau lost.
Paulding class destroyer USS Burrows (DD-29) is damaged by a fire at sea that kills two, and takes several efforts to extinguish, with the aid of several other ships. The damage is fairly minor, and she is back at sea by the end of January
