War at Sea
Five US destroyers, Macdonough DD-9, USS Paul Jones (DD-10), USS Stewart (DD-13), USS Hopkins (DD-6) and USS Worden (DD-16) depart for France, to operate from Brest.
The foremast of the South Carolina class battleship USS Michigan (BB 27) buckles and falls off the port side of the ship, killing six and injuring thirteen while she was taking part in training exercises.
