Albatros receive an order for three prototypes of the Albatros W.4 floatplane fighter.

No.3 Wing, RNAS, a newly formed strategic bombing unit, begins to move to France. The plan is for it to use the Sopwith 9700 Type 1 ½ Strutter bomber alongside French aircraft.
