Battle of Verdun

Germans capture Beaumont, south of the Bois des Caures. Part of the French 352nd Infantry Division holds on to Sarnogneux. A French counterattack fails to retake the Bois des Caures. The 51st Infantry Division is forced to retreat to the Bois des Fosses.
