Battle of Verdun

A French counterattack retakes the Bois des Corbeaux, lost to the Germans on 7 March soon after the start of their offensive on the left bank of the Meuse.

On the right bank Vaux village is captured by the Germans, but only after the defending 409th Regiment has lost three quarters of its men.
