The main focus of the German attack hits the 7th Division on t he Menin Road.
German artillery crosses the Yser, but a series of major attacks on 25 October fail.
In responce to a rebellion in South Africa it is decided to divert the first ANZAC troop convoy from the Suez Canal route to the Cape of Good Hope route, just in case the troops are needed to defeat the rebels. On the same day the main rebel force is defeated and a few days later the convoy returns to the Suez route.
