War in the Air
Eighth Air Force Heavy Bomber Mission No. 14: First really big Eighth Air Force mission when 115 aircraft are dispatched to attack industrial targets around Lille. The attack results in the first mention of Flying Fortress attacks in German publicity. Four aircraft lost.
