Here we see a force of Australian troops passing by a burning oil tank on Tarakan Island, during the mainly Australian invasion of Borneo in 1945.

The wartime caption described these troops as being from the 9th Australian Imperial Force, but they are probably from the 9th Australian Division, which took part in the invasion of Tarakan.
