Here we see the Acasta or K clas destroyer HMS Achates in 1914, only two years after she was commissioned. At this stage the entire class formed the 4th Destroyer Flotilla of the Grand Fleet. She had the typical layout of British destroyers of her period, with her forward funnel taller than the rear two.
