The Douglas B-22 Bolo was the designation given to a version of the B-18 that would have been powered by the 1,600hp R-2600-2 Cyclone engine. It would otherwise have been similar to the B-18A, and by the time the idea was suggested it was clear that the basic B-18 design was obsolete. The estimated performance of the B-22 was also disappointing. The XB-22 project was cancelled before much work had been done.
