Throwing explosives off the sinking Zuikaku, Cape Engano
Here we see the crew of the doomed carrier Zuikaku throwing explosives off the side of the deck. The Zuikaku was part of the northern diversionary fleet at the Battle of Leyte Gulf and was sunk by American torpedoes and bombs at the Battle of Cape Engano (25 October 1944), the northern part of the wider battle.
