Marconi 500w pack wireless set in use
Here we see a Marconi 500w pack wireless set being used to transmit a wireless signal. This system was developed in 1913 and could be carried on four horses. It was used by the British Army throughout the First World War. Here we see the transmitting station, and the base of the metal mast that carried the aerial.
