Wireless Aerial on Admiralty Building, First World War
Here we see the wireless aerial that was built onto the Admiralty Building on Horse Guards Parade during the First World War. This allowed the Admiralty to pass infomation and orders more quickly to their distant fleets, but also made it rather easier for them to interfere in matters of detail that would have been best left in the hands of the local commanders.
