Lt D.W. Gay's War Effort - Nachrichten aus de Heimat No.32 (2)
This page from Lt D.W. Gay's 'War Effort' is the second page of Nachrichten aus de Heimat No.32, a propaganda paper aimed at German troops. The stories include a look at the decline of the use of the Nazi salute, the movement of Nazi funds to Switzerland. The boxed story to the top right is a direct quote from Dr Ley, and translates as 't as in spring the first snow bell pierces the hard ground and thus announces the springtime, so I am convinced that the young National Socialist revolution will pierce the crusted and icy layer of the dying world'
Many thanks to Martin Hampton, the son in law of Lt. Gay, for sending us this material. These pages come from Gay's own private notebook which began with similar infomation to his flight log, but became more detailed, and also included a number of interesting items that had been pasted in.
