US Marine testing Type 11 Light Machine Gun, Guadalcanal
Here we see a US Marine testing a captured Japanese Type 11 Light Machine Gun on Guadalcanal. The Type 11 was a 6.5mm machine gun introduced in 1922, and had been superceded by newer models by 1942, but was still in use throughout the Second World War. On Guadalcanal captured examples were used against the Japanese until the supply situation improved.
