Unveiling of the Taplow Memorial, April 1919
Here we see the unveiling of the Taplow Memorial to the Canadians who had died at the Duchess of Connaught's Red Cross Hospital at Taplow during the First World War. The memorial was unveiled by Sir Robert Borden (the Prime Minister of Canada from 1911 to 1920) in April 1919 and is in the Italian garden at Cliveden. The hospital has since been demolished and replaced with a housing estate, but the memorial still survives in the Canadian War Memorial Garden.
