Union Jack raised over Kirkuk, October 1918
Here we see the Union Jack being raised over Kirkuk, the Ottoman HQ in Mesopotamia for much of 1918, after it was captured by British troops on 25 October 1918. The Ottoman surrender came soon afterwards
