Here we see a Japanese Type 92 Battalion gun that was captured on Guadalcanal. This was an unusual weapon that could be used in the direct fire role (as seen here), or with the barrel raised almost vertically as a mortar. It replaced older infantry support guns and mortars, allowing a single weapon to be used instead of two.
