Thomson-Houston Engineering Works, Lille, c.1919
Here we see one of the workshops of the engineering firm Compagnie Française Thomson-Houston (sister company to the original American Thomson-Houston), at Lesquin-Lez-Lille, as it was after the Germans retreated from Lille in October 1918. The Germans had removed all of the machine tools earlier in the war, and demolished the building itself before they retreated.
