Strasbourg scuttled at Toulon
This aerial photograph shows the French battleship Strasbourg on 28 November 1942, the day after she was scuttled at Toulon
to prevent her falling into German hands. Strasbourg is at the right. To her left is the Suffren class cruiser Colbert, on fire with her smoke partly obscuring the ships to her left. Next in line is the Algerie class cruiser Algerie, and at the far left is the La Galisonniere class cruiser Marseillaise with her square stern visible.
