Soviet Sappers clearing Mines, Stalingrad
Here we see Soviet sappers using a mine detector to clear a road near Stalingrad, probably during the Soviet offensive over the winter of 1942-43. In this picture the mine detector is attached to a light weight pole, but they were sometimes attached to the end of a normal Soviet rifle.
