Sokuten Class Minelayer from the Left
Here we see a Soluten-class minelayer from the left. Two rows of mines can just about be made out on the rails at the stern of the ship. Three sub-classes of this type were produced, starting in 1937. Four of the first five, seven of the second nine and the only example of the third type to be completed were all sunk during the war, leaving only three survivors.
