His Excellency Sayid Idris greeting Libyan Arab force troops
Here we see His Excellency Sayid Idris, leader of the Senussi in 1942, greeting Libyan Arab force troops that were fighting alongside the Allies in North Africa. Idris was a long term opponent of the Italians in Libya, and after the war became King of the newly independent Kingdom of Libya before being deposed by Gaddafi.
