German POWs returning looted furniture, Belgium, c.1919
Here we see a group of German POWs unloaded looted furniture from a barge, ready for it to be returned to Belgium. Presumably the furniture was looted during the German retreat of 1918, but abandoned either during the retreat or after the Armistice.
