Colonel Edson Raff receiving Legion of Honour
Here we see Colonel Edson Raff, commander of the 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion
during Operation Torch, being awarded the French Legion of Honour by General Edouard Welvert, commander of a French division fighting on the Allied side in Tunisia. He was killed in action early in 1943.
