Plans of Ikoma Class Armoured Cruisers
These plans show the Ikoma class armoured cruisers of 1905-06, the first Japanese cruisers to carry 12in guns. As a result they were classified as battlecruisers between 1912 and 1921. They carried four 12in guns in twin turrets fore and aft, and a more typical cruiser battery of 12in 6in guns in casemates. They also carried a tertiary battery of twelve 4.7in guns, also in casemates.
