Persians waiting for water ration, 1918
Here we see the inhabitants of a Persian town waiting to be issued with their water rations during the brief British occupation of parts of northern Persian in 1918. The British were focused on Baku, but needed to cross northern Persian to reach that area, and found themselves taking part in disaster relief efforts in that area.
