Operating Room in British Military Hospital, Amara
Here we see an operating theatre in a British military hospital at Amara on the Tigris. Amara was captured early in the British Mesopotamia campaign that ended in disaster at Kut. This hospital probably dates to later in the war - at the time of the initial campaign the medical services on the Tigris were utterly inadequate.
