Here we see a one-armed soldier demonstrating a an attachment for his artificial arm that allowed him to use a garden fork. The picture was taken as Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton, which had been founded in 1915 to help limbless soldiers and is still a leading specialist in that area.
