View from southern tower at Nauen Transmitting Station
Here we see the view from a platform on the southern tower at the powerful German radio transmitting station at Nauen (just to the west of Berlin). During the First World War this was one of the most powerful radio stations in the world, capable of communicating with Germany's colony in Togoland and across the Atlantic. It became invaluable to Germany after all of her submarine cables were cut by the British at the start of the First World War.
